VITA Program

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program

Do You Enjoy Giving Back?

Each year, we help to ensure the success of the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program by recruiting members to volunteer at our VITA site located at the Mall West End here in Atlanta. The VITA program is designed to offer tax preparation services to low-income families in the Atlanta community. We are now accepting volunteers. Please continue reading for important volunteer information.

When Do You Volunteer?

The VITA site is open each and every Saturday during tax season (through April 15th ) from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Volunteers are asked to select at least one 2-hour shift based on their availability. Due to the high volume of tax returns we process and the communities reliance on our services, we encourage volunteers to sign up for multiple shifts throughout the tax season. A link to select volunteer shifts will be emailed to you separately.

How Do You Volunteer?

To volunteer, you need to be certified.  VITA certification is provided by the IRS HERE.

Once you navigate to the training site you will be prompted to create an account. Once you create an account, you will be given the option to choose your preferred level of certification.

You will have two attempts per test. If you fail a test once, please notify us and someone from our team will assist you. Once you have completed and passed the certification, please email your certificate to communityaffairs@atlantaaba.org.

Parking & Directions

  • Park near the entrance closest to Churches Chicken
